It does chip easily and will probably not last more than a few years. But it's great for an apartment. My husband and I bought it to get us through apartment living for a few years before we get a house and a "real bedroom set". The one big negative is the depth of the drawers, they are really small. It was easy to assemble as long as you follow the directions line by line. Rating: 3 / 5 Overall this is fantastic inexpensive furniture with the intention of looks excellent.
